Alan Harris’s email of last week gives the results of the 24th January Winter League with the knowledge that this week was snowed off yet again.
Twenty players too to the course on the above date paying a draw for partners eighteen holes event for both pairs and individual points.
Winners were Paul Roberts and Paul Hogan with 43 points from Mark Holdcroft and Brian Moffat on 42. Phil Tunnah and Dan Moore were in third place with 41, a score replicated by Duncan Fellowes and Dave Muir who were ranked fourth as a result of their back nine score.
After three events the league standings feature Paul Hogan in the lead with 27 points followed byRichard Rawlings on 22, Dave Muir on 21 and Alan Harris on 19.
Wrexham ladies played an nine holes event over the back nine holes using the Canadian Greensome as a format for scoring purposes. Winners were Monica Jones and Eileen Jackson with 20 points, a score repeated by second placed Wendy Roberts and Anne Bale who had a less good back five holes. Eight pairs took part in the event.
