Wrexham results from last week bear witness to a Wednesday Stableford event which was played through three handicap divisions with not one category one player taking to the course. Leading division two came Alec Lucas with 38 points from Mike Norton
on
35 and then Alan Harris with 32. The third division was won by John Hogan on 36 points followed by John
Webster on 35 and then Stan Roberts with 35.
Brian Leach took the honours in the fourth handicap group with his offering of 36 points. He was followed by Malcolm Fennah on 34 and then Mike Greenly on 33.
The junior medal took place on the 3rd of the month and featur3ed a first division win for the Junior Captain, Sam Higgins with 73 – 5- 68. Sam spends huge amounts of time on the practice areas and his win in difficult conditions bears testimony to his hard work.
Second came Lewis Jones with 82 – 6 – 76 and third was Daniel Darlington with
94 – 12- 82. The second division went to Jordan Williams with 95 – 25 – 70 with Jack Waters second with 102 – 27 – 75 and then James Adamson on 101 – 25 – 76.
The ladies played a four ball better ball Stableford last Tuesday with only the first position acknowledged in the results. The winning pair from twelve couples taking part were Sandy Reddington and Janet Lloyd with a creditable 35 points.
Wrexham’s Sunday league vied for supremacy with the foggy conditions but following a quarter of an hour delay, the big tree down the first came into view and play commenced.
Winners this week with 43 points were Paul Roberts and Mark Holdcroft followed by a single player, Richard Rawlings, who teamed his score on the front nine with Paul and on the second nine with Mark for a creditable 42 points for second place. Third came Andy Wynne and Alan Davis with 41 followed by Alan Merrill and John
Hogan on 41 for fourth place.
The individual points table features Richard Rawlings in top place with 31 points from John Hogan on 30, Paul Roberts in third place on 26 and Andy Wynne in fourth place on 24.
