Wrexham played their Sunday league last weekend and clocked up the sixth competition in the series. Winning this week was Dave Chadwick, devoid of partner, as he played as the odd player in a three ball as the assembled group was not divisible by four. Scoring a creditable 43 points, he led the pack from second placed O Jones and John Hogan with another 43 point card, and they in turn were followed by Clive Griffiths and Brian Moffatt with 41. Richard Rawlings and Dave Jones were in fourth place with 40 with John Williams and Andy Wynne fifth on 38. The best 37 point card belonged to Mike Fellows and Paul Roberts for sixth place.
In the individual rankings, Paul Hogan leads the way with 44 points followed by Richard Rawlings on 42, Andy Wynne on 38, Paul Roberts with 36 followed by John Hogan on 33 and finally, completing to sixth place, Phil Tunnah with 31.

The sheets are now on the Notice Boards for the Honours Board match play events, but players are reminded that under the new legislation approved by the Golf Union of Wales, all players must be in possession of an active handicap at the time of the draw in a couple of weeks time.
Talking of the Golf Union of Wales, I was down in Celtic Manor last Saturday for a meeting of that august body in my role as Council member for Flintshire and Denbighshire, and may I thank members of both county organizations for voting for myself and Steve Roberts of Holywell golf club to represent your interests. The work being done on the golf course ready for the Ryder Cup in September is well in hand and the impressive hotel complex, visible on the hill to the right of junction 24 of the M4, cannot fail to satisfy even the harshest of critics, if any at all.
