Wrexham managed a window of opportunity to play a Junior medal a week last Sunday when eight boys and three girls took to the course. Rhys Millington led the boys with a 73 gross   and Chloe Williams handed in the winning card for the girls’ event with 79 – 6 – 73. She was followed by Jessica Jones on net 77 and India Friswell on net 81. This event was played as a reduction in handicap only, a pattern that will continue until April when the full scale competitions take over.

The ladies played a Canadian Greensome over nine holes last Tuesday in an event which featured a win for Janet Brand and the Ladies’ Handicap Secretary, Ann Davies, with 19 points. Second came Jo Davies partnering Janet Lloyd for a total of 17 points on a card play off. A total of twelve pairs contested the event on a day best described as dreary.
