Wrexham played a nine holes junior medal at the beginning of January when there was restricted play on the course. Using the simple expediencyof halving the handicaps for the nine holes, the winner was Thomas Willimas with 44 – 5 – 39 from Lewis Jones on 42 – 3 – 39, and then junior captain, Sam Higgins on 47 – 2.5 – 44.5.
Jack Waters won the second division with 44 – 13.5 – 30.5 from Matthew Waters on
46 – 12.5 – 33.5 and then Chris Tym on 53 – 9.5 – 43.5. Lewis Mackenzie scored 73 – 14 – 59.
The Ladies played a four ball better ball on the back nine holes last Tuesday but I am only in possession of the names of the winning pair. Mrs Wendy Roberts and Carole Jones scored an even par nine holes for eighteen points with just six pairs contesting the competition.
My home club colleague Alan Harris, who organizes the club’s Winter league, has admittedly been having trouble with his email facility these last few days and has switched his I S P twice in as many days. He must still be in a state of limbo as his usual offering, so accurately provided these last two weeks, is still hovering in the ether somewhere close. All will be revealed next week!
