The Wrexham winter league met again last Sunday morning with just fifteen players competing in the event.
With the northerly wind firm in their faces off the first tee, usually the best scoring direction because of the long par fours playing downwind, conditions actually proved very difficult indeed. Due to the odd number of players, Les Shoemark was on his own following the draw so was paired with Duncan Fellowes on the front nine and with Clive
Griffiths on the back nine. He managed 40 points which was good enough to win followed by Andy Wynne and Neil Edwards in second place with 38.
Third place went to Mike Fellowes and Dave Chadwick with 37.
Following this weeks efforts the individual leader board has changed and now is led by Andy Wynne on 48 points followed by Alan Harris with 46 and Mike Fellowes on 44. Two players are on 43,namely Neil Edwards and Clive Griiffiths with Paul Roberts on 40.
Wrexham Ladies played an eighteen holes three ball Am Am scoring event last Tuesday
with the best two scores from three to count. The winners were Anne Morgan, Tessa Hughes and Pat Whitehead with 67 points.
