Despite heavy rain as I am writing, courses are now open for play following the snow and frost with maybe a few restrictions taken on the advice of the Greens Staff. Many courses are playing a limited number of holes or even just one nine holes due to persistent ground frost.
Even so, the Wrexham Winter league managed eighteen holes of play by touring the back nine holes twice last Sunday morning. Dave
Jones and Clive Griffiths mustered 45 points for ten individual points each with organizer Alan Harris and Paul Hogan in second place with 44 for nine points. Phil Tunnah played with a pair as a three ball, linking up with one on the first nine and the other player for the second nine. He handed in 42 points for third spot. Richard Rawlings and Dave Muir were in fourth place with 37 followed by Dave Chadwick and Mike Fellowes on the same numbers and Andy Wynne and Duncan Fellowes in sixth place on 36.
